Researchers external to ASU may now reserve the Drone Studio
Use of the ASU Drone was previously limited to Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering researchers. The space is now open to additional members of the ASU community and government and industry partners as a recharge center. New ASU and external partners can now make paid reservations at hourly rates.
All researchers must be registered and approved before reserving time in the ASU Drone Studio.
Registration process
Registration and approval
All applicants must fill out the online registration form, take two required trainings and become approved by the lab manager.
Experiment approval
Experiment plans must be approved by the lab manager. Some may need an additional approval by the Fulton Schools Safety Office.
Reserve the studio
Reserve the studio online. Reservations are limited to a maximum of 2 reservations per week, not to exceed 8 hours total.

Required trainings
All researchers who wish to use the ASU Drone Studio must complete the EHS Fire Safety training.

The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
All drone studio users must pass FAA TRUST course and have a completion certificate on file before using ASU Drone Studio. Visit FAA.gov for details regarding TRUST. Please email a copy of your certificate to [email protected].

ASU Drone Studio letter of collaboration
ASU researchers must submit an ASU Drone Studio letter of collaboration when registering to use the studio.
