Engineering Fast Track allows high school students the unique opportunity to explore STEM fields and accelerate completion of an engineering degree by enrolling. Students who are interested in pursuing a STEM degree are encouraged to complete the STEM Record of Achievement, 4 courses that provide an introduction into a university STEM degree.
To successfully complete the STEM Record of Achievement, a student must complete all four (4) courses online through Open Scale Courses with a final GPA of 3.0.
Benefits of Open Scale Courses:
- No risk. Payment is collected only upon completion of the course, if the student is both happy with the grade they have received and would like to receive academic credit.
- Low cost. Total cost for taking a course is $425 ($400 course cost + $25 fee).
- Same faculty, same credit. All courses are taught by the same ASU faculty that teaches the on-campus version. Credit received for the course is identical.
How it works
- Sign up for Engineering Fast Track.
- Enroll in MAT 265, CHM 114, FSE 100 and CSE 110*
- Select “Pursue Credit” to take the course for academic credit ($25 fee).
- Complete your four (4) courses with a 3.0 GPA or better, and select “Get Credit” for each course ($400 per course)
- Earn the STEM Record of Achievement
- Receive an official college transcript with your academic credit, which you can immediately apply towards the 3+1 program at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.
*We recommend taking 1-2 courses each term. Not all courses are taught each term, so you will want to review the course schedule.
