The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering offer a variety of programs for current engineering students to be involved in. The list below is a portion of what is offered within Engineering.

Academic Bowl

Modeled after the College Bowl, ASU created its own called ASU Academic Bowl. The Academic Bowl is held every fall since 2006. In 2006, at the first ASU Academic Bowl, the engineering team won the in the finals against W. P. Carey School of Business. Every September, Engineering has tryouts, which is a test of 100 questions, to determine who will be on the team. Look for an e-mail in September regarding the date, time and location for the next engineering ASU Academic Bowl tryout. Learn more.

Fulton Ambassadors

Founded during the summer 2002, the Fulton Ambassadors is comprised of students representing all disciplines within the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. They serve as engineering student liaisons and assist with the school's recruiting activities and dean's office events.

Internships and Career Planning

The Engineering Career Center provides engineering students help with:

  • Internships and job search.
  • Career coaching, which includes selecting a major or choosing an area of emphasis.
  • Preparing resumes and employment letters.
  • Interviewing practice.
  • Negotiating salary packages.
  • Applying to graduate school.
  • Professional development activities.
  • Engineering career fairs.
  • On-campus interviews and recruitment activities.
  • Networking mixers and special career events.

Intramurals

The Office of Academic and Student Affairs has covered the cost for engineering teams that wish to sign up for ASU intramurals. Teams must be verified and the registration form must be signed by the coordinator of student engagement, Katrina Vance, before being turned in to the Student Recreation Complex. Mentoring

Several mentoring programs within the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering are intended to give engineering students an opportunity to meet experienced engineering student mentors or industry mentors, promote student involvement and build community.

Research

The Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative offers exceptional opportunities to undergraduate engineering students. This is a one-of-a kind program combining research, mentorship, an hourly wage and a research supply budget. Students find a mentor (faculty or doctoral student) within the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering and work on an idea either developed by the student or the mentor. Learn more.
