Dr. Krishna Prapoorna Biligiri is currently a Research Scientist / Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University (ASU). His research focus areas have been in advanced pavement material characterization. His research, teaching, and professional experience also include pavement design; performance evaluation and management systems, advanced laboratory testing, and laboratory-field tire / pavement noise evaluation. He has worked on several asphalt modification projects including asphalt rubber and fiber-reinforced asphalt concrete. Some of these projects were on the national and international levels. At ASU, he has taught both undergraduate and graduate level classes. He is a nominated Executive Fellow and Lifetime Member of the International Road Federation. Recently, he has been invited to work with the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, Sweden; his work will be on the optimization of a Poro-Elastic Road Surface pavement material for durability and noise mitigation.
Asphalt mixtures design and characterization, advanced laboratory testing, pavement analysis and design, field performance evaluation, statistical analyses and modeling, computer applications in civil engineering, laboratory and field highway noise evaluation and modeling, highway geometric design, impact of pavement materials on global climate change, and sustainable materials in highways and environment.
