Dr. Abousleman worked as a software and analog design engineer and as for Honeywell, Defense Avionics Systems Division, from 1987-1988. In 1994, he joined the Satellite Communications Group at Hughes, Space and Communications where he worked on satellite-based mobile communication systems. In 1995, he joined the Speech and Signal Processing Laboratory at Motorola, Integrated Information Systems Group, where he worked on vocoder and image coder research and development. Currently, Dr. Abousleman is the Director of the Compression, Communications & Intelligence Laboratory at General Dynamics C4 Systems in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Abousleman has published over 100 technical articles in the areas of image/video processing/compression and wireless communications, has written a chapter for a book on Hyperspectral Image Compression, and has filed 14 patents, of which eight have been issued.
