Bioengineering

graduate program

Our faculty members are actively engaged in providing education and research experiences for graduate students. New biotechnical and biomedical industries are emerging, and groundbreaking research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and a number of other national, regional and local agencies.

To further support student success, the Bioengineering Industrial Internship Program at ASU was established to help prepare students for biomedical engineering careers in the medical device and biotechnology industries, and to familiarize companies with the talents and abilities of these students. Student interns are provided an opportunity to participate in hands-on industrial projects that will provide an educational experience that exposes them to research and development, manufacturing and marketing practices.

Bioengineering, M.S.: the graduate program leading to the Master of Science in bioengineering focuses on areas of study including neural engineering, molecular, cellular and tissue engineering, biomedical imaging and informatics, rehabilitation engineering and biomaterials.

Bioengineering, Ph.D.: the Doctor of Philosophy in bioengineering is conferred upon evidence of excellence in research resulting in a scholarly dissertation that is a contribution to knowledge.
