October 28, 2008
The Award selection committee is meeting and putting publicity together, the team will launch in mid-November Janet Duke has joined the "Getting Started" team. They are moving forward on notifying the departments in Engineering about the "Getting Started Resources" website and the PEP program. Discussions about the best way to identify the Peer Pals and working on a presentation and flyer for the BOMs. They plan to present the Peer Excellence Program at the BOM meeting in November.

October 27-29, 2008
GMarie analyzing focus group and 1:1 data. The team will receive a final report summary with recommendations on 11/20/08.

October 15, 2008
Team meeting with progress reports. The training tracker sharepoint application demo is given. A positive report about the front-desk service training pilot with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences was provided. There was discussion for other departments in Engineering to get involved. Another "Good to Great: How the Front-Desk and Advisors retain Students" workshop is offered to Engineering. This workshop is scheduled for Nov. 12, focusing on front desk and academic support specialist.

IE, ETS, CE and Bioengineering participate with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in a front-desk service training pilot called "Good to Great: How the Front Desk Retains Students".

Dean Meldrum approves the faculty feedback on staff performance evaluations assessment memo. The current staff performance evaluations tools and processes already in place will be used for faculty to provide feedback regarding staff performance. If the faculty find these tools are not sufficient, the committee recommends that it is best for the faculty to suggest a system for incorporating feedback into employee evaluations.

Team meeting with updates: Reward and Recognition department support sub-committee contacted departmental leadership to determine contact for recognition activities. Awards sub-committee gave final presentations to departments to publicize program. Feedback on the assessment tool is solicited.

Finalized and approved the memos for faculty feedback on staff performance evaluations and telecommuting/flexible schedules. Unit Performance Survey demo is given to team, with discussion on how to incorporate within departments.

Team meeting with progress reports from team leads, discussion about flexible work schedule/telecommuting policies and how to proceed with Goal E, faculty feedback for staff performance evaluations. Progress report from 2/08 until 08/08, sent to Dean Meldrum and Dean Johnson. Partnership with CLAS to attend Leadership Training, "Managing Performance" workshop for Engineering supervisors. A total of 18 supervisors from Engineering attended the 3-day workshop.

Team A, HR, Al Filardo and GMarie attend training needs assessment kick-off meeting. Review team roles, responsibilities, statement of work and project schedule. Team A Training Tracker application demo is presented to Al Filardo. Next steps and how to proceed are discussed to finalize application and populate data.

Peer Excellence Program is approved by the ESSP team, next step is presentation to Dean Meldrum and Dean Johnson. Team also discussed how to proceed with last goal and will prepare a memo recommendation to present to deans.

Rough draft of "On-Boarding" web site is posted to the public site for team feedback. Mentor program is renamed to Peer Excellence Program (PEP). Draft powerpoint presentation is posted to the sharepoint site for review.

Team leads and Al Filardo meet with Phil Potter (College of Public Programs) and Kevin Freeman OVPREA HR director to discuss our project and possible collaboration opportunities.

Alicia Stiers replaces Chalysse as On-Boarding team lead. Janet Duke joins the ESSP team, as MAE new representative. Jennifer Treu is newly assigned HR partner and assigned to the ESSP project team.

HR sends an email to all other University HR liasons to inform them of our project and work to date.
