Career Coaching Services

The Center provides both scheduled and drop-in advising for engineering students and alumni on career issues, including career choices, preparation of resumes and application letters, job search techniques, interview skills, professional dress, and business communication.  These career topics and others are also presented in workshops offered in cooperation with ASU Career Services.  Career Center staff can make presentations at the Engineering Student Center, in Engineering classes, and in Engineering student organizations meetings. 

We offer a full range of career services, including career decision-making, resume and cover letter preparation and evaluation, internship and job search strategies, interview preparation and coaching, salary negotiation, networking tips, career fair strategies, review of graduate school statements and more.

Creating your resume (PPT)
Writing an effective resume including self-assessment, employer research and creating a targeted document.

Preparing for a job fair (PPT)
Strategies for making a positive first impression with recruiters and maximizing the quality of the job fair experience.

Learn to successfully negotiate various kinds of employment interviews, with particular emphasis on behavioral interviewing.

Job/Internship Postings and Searchable Resume Books
We provide a Web-based system for local and national jobs and internships with additional features for posting or searching résumés. Students are assisted in maximizing the effectiveness of the system to connect with engineering-specific openings.  Students can register for career and internship fairs, employer information sessions and on-campus interview sessions with prospective employers. Engineering Internship Program
The Engineering Internship Program (EIP) is a sponsored internship program that permits highly qualified master’s-level and doctoral-level students to work with leading-edge companies. This program provides convenient and customizable services geared toward applied research in industry. In some cases, junior and senior level students may be eligible to participate in the EIP.  Sponsorship fees include a salary for the intern, employee-related expenses and administrative fees.

Affiliate-Engineering Internship Program
The Affiliate-Engineering Internship Program (A-EIP) permits students from other ASU colleges and schools to participate in technology- and business-related internships through EIP-type sponsorship agreements with companies.
