What is E2 Camp?

A two-night, three-day camp for first-time, full-time freshmen held in the cool pines of Prescott, Ariz., which is located two hours north of Phoenix.

What are the benefits of attending E2 Camp?

Your involvement in E2 Camp is an exciting and engaging way to jump-start your success in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.  Incoming freshmen will meet other students, faculty and staff and learn skills that are important to their success as an engineering student.

What do you do at E2 Camp?

E2 Camp will provide fun and exciting activities that will engage the engineering class of 2013. There will be a myriad of activities such as interactive workshops, team-building challenge course, group projects and competitions.

How do I pay the $50.00 fee?

The fee will be assessed to your student account by August 2009. Please login to My ASU to view and pay the fee.

What do I need to bring?

  • Sleeping bag.
  • Pillow.
  • Flashlight.
  • Clothing for a two-night trip.
  • Warm clothing (jacket, sweatshirt).
  • Rain gear.
  • Tennis shoes or closed-toed shoes.
  • Bath/personal supplies (you may wish to bring shower shoes).
  • Towel.
  • Bug spray.
  • Sun screen.
  • Any medications (including over the counter pain relievers/allergy medicines).
  • Great attitude.

Can I bring my cell phone?

The cell phone service may be sporadic and we do not anticipate students needing their cell phones. If you need to bring it, we ask that you keep it in your cabin during the duration of the camp, and it is your responsibility to make sure it is secure.

Where do I sleep?

Students will sleep in non-coed cabins that sleep 12.

What facilities are provided?

There are several non-coed, community-style bathrooms and showers.

What will the temperature be in Prescott in August/September?

On average, the high will be 87 degrees and the low will be 60 degrees.  Also, it will be the monsoon season, which could bring a lot of rain.

Can I invite friends or family to attend?

We understand you want to share this experience with family and friends, but the camp is only for first-time, full-time freshmen enrolled in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Can I request a roommate?

Due to the large number of participants roommate requests cannot be accommodated.

What if I get hurt or sick at camp?

All staff is first aid trained and will be able to treat minor cuts and scrapes.  For major emergencies the Prescott fire, ambulance and police will be notified.

What if I have medication that needs to be refrigerated?

You may store your medication in the infirmary’s refrigerator.

I have a disability, what are my options?

How do I know which camp I have been placed in?

You will receive an e-mail confirmation after you register online. You will also receive an e-mail confirmation in July.

I signed up for camp but did not receive a confirmation. What do I do?

Call the E2 Camp Hotline at 480-727-6761 to be sure we have received your registration.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes.  Buses will leave promptly at 9 a.m. from Tempe campus Lot 59 (the parking lot adjacent to the stadium) on the first day of camp and will arrive back at the same location on the third day.

Can I drive up to camp?

No. Parking is very limited at camp and is reserved for faculty, staff and volunteers.

Do I need to be dropped off or will I be able to leave my car on campus?

You need to be dropped off at Lot 59 (the parking lot adjacent to the stadium) on the day of departure. There is no overnight parking on campus. Parking services will tow any car without an ASU parking pass and anyone parked overnight.

Once I have registered for camp, will/can I switch to a different date?

Camp is first-come, first-serve and switching camps is limited based on space.

Is E2 Camp required?

Yes. Students will have an assignment related to their ASU 101 course, at E2 Camp.

I have conflicting events during scheduled camp dates. What can I do?

There are five camps offered in August. They are on a first-come, first-served basis so you will have to register as soon as possible for a camp that will fit your schedule.

If I am not yet 18, will I need to have my parents sign a release form?

Yes. Please call the E2 Camp Hotline at 480-727-6761 and we will mail the form to your parents.

Can I be picked up from camp?

No. All students must take the bus back to campus.

Can I register for camp five even though I am not from out of state?

Yes. Space is first-come first served and there are number of spots reserved for out-of-state students.
